Getting to know the university library (for university staff members)

This course is meant for university staff members with little or no proficiency at all in German who need to know the basics about using the university library.

Depending on the participants' interests, topics may include

  • searching the OPAC and the Bavarian union catalogue
  • tracking down books on the shelves
  • ordering books from the stacks or via interlibrary loan
  • the extent to which books and other media can be taken home or to one's office
  • the use of electronic library holdings on the campus and beyond.

Participants are welcome to contact the lecturer in advance and name their particular areas of interest and fields of research.
